Child Safety Framework Compliance Statement
Commitment to Child Safety:
Biointelect is committed to upholding the highest standards of child safety and ensuring compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. While our primary operations do not involve direct interaction with children and young people, we recognize our responsibility to create a safe and protective environment should such interactions occur in specific projects. Our organization is dedicated to fostering a culture of child safety, upholding ethical standards, and adhering to all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
Interactions with Children and Young People:
As an organisation, our core activities do not typically involve working with children. However, certain projects or partnerships may bring us into contact with children and young people. In these instances, we are committed to implementing appropriate child safety measures, including:
- Ensuring all relevant staff and contractors undergo child safety training where applicable.
- Conducting thorough background checks, including Working With Children Checks (WWCC) or equivalent, for personnel involved in projects that require interaction with children.
- Adopting clear procedures and protocols to manage and safeguard child-related engagements in compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Child Safety Risk Assessment:
Given that our organisation does not typically work with children, our child safety risk remains low. However, in circumstances where child interaction is necessary, we will:
- Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment specific to the project to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Implement child-safe policies and procedures tailored to the nature of the project.
- Ensure all staff, contractors, and stakeholders are aware of and adhere to child safety principles.
- Establish clear reporting mechanisms for any concerns related to child safety and wellbeing.
Ongoing Compliance and Review:
Biointelect is committed to continuously reviewing and improving our child safety policies and procedures. We will:
- Regularly assess our compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
- Update our policies and training to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
- Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and ethical engagement with all stakeholders.
By adhering to these commitments, Biointelect ensures that child safety remains a fundamental consideration in all our activities, even in the rare instances where our work involves children and young people.
