Biointelect supported an Australian‑first qualitative research project to map the lived experience of children and families navigating paediatric low‑grade glioma (pLGG). Drawing on in‑depth interviews with Australian pLGG families and treating clinicians, the project developed a Patient Journey Map capturing key stages from early symptom recognition and diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and transition to adult care.
The work highlights significant variability in patient pathways, common challenges such as diagnostic delays and access to therapies, and the long‑term quality‑of‑life impacts of living with pLGG. Designed as both a family support resource and an advocacy tool, the Patient Journey Map translates lived experience into practical insights to inform more holistic, patient‑centred care in Australia.
