Jennifer Herz

Co-founder & Strategic Advisor

Jennifer Herz, GAICD, co-founded Biointelect and Biocelect to provide end to end strategic commercialisation services to the biopharmaceutical sector. Jennifer has over thirty years industry experience and has held a variety of executive roles with responsibility for Australia, New Zealand European and International markets. She was the first Managing Director of Sanofi Pasteur which was a start-up company and grew significantly to be an established major provider of vaccines in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Region.

During her time leading Biointelect she has overseen more than 600 projects providing rich and diverse experience in the complexity of life science product development and integrated commercial strategy. This experience includes successful FDA, EMA and TGA approvals and global launches as well as product and company failures, which is where the most learning is gained.

Jennifer is a Director of two NASDAQ listed US based biotech company’s Australian subsidiaries and has over twenty years Board experience across publicly listed, private and not-for-profit sectors. she has served on Federal and State Government Committees including NSW’s Innovation and Productivity council and NHMRC’s Health Research Impact Committee. She is a current steering committee member of the Australian AMR Network (AAMRNet) and a member of the Governance Advisory Board of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Mathematical Analysis of Cellular Systems MACSYS.

She has previously served on the Board of Medicines Australia as Director and Vice Chair. She was also active in a variety of European and International Industry Association working groups responsible for liaison with health authorities including European Institutions and the WHO.

Jennifer has extensive international network of scientific and industry experts across many therapeutic areas and healthcare sectors along with global experience in multiple new product launches and start-ups at all stages of development.

Bruce Goodwin

Non-Executive Director & Business Advisor

Bruce Goodwin is a highly respected leader in the life sciences sector, bringing over four decades of experience across global healthcare and biopharmaceutical industries. He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director across six organisations operating within the healthcare sector, where he provides strategic guidance and governance expertise.

Bruce’s career includes more than three decades with the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, during which he held senior leadership roles across multiple countries and regions. His tenure was marked by a strong record of driving organisational growth, fostering innovation, and leading high-performing teams in complex, multinational environments.

Bruce has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing the life sciences industry. He has served on industry peak body boards in Australia and Japan, contributing to policy development, regulatory dialogue, and cross-sector collaboration. He is also regarded for his strategic acumen, global perspective, and passion for improving health outcomes through innovation, leadership, and effective governance.

Dr Franz Pichler

Former Eli Lilly Senior Director, Global Policy and Public Affairs

Franz specialises in international health policy, advocacy, and health system reform relating to the development, assessment, and utilization of innovative medicines and technologies. He combines his technical understanding with policy analysis to develop external affairs strategies and execute such strategies via various engagement approaches including thought leadership in public fora, developing reports, or writing publications. His current work with a broad range of stakeholders provides him with a contemporary understanding of the core policy challenges relating to innovation and the differing perspectives of the various stakeholders involved in commercialising, reviewing, or utilising such technologies. As a result, he can provide coaching, strategic advice, and insights, or direct support to Biointelect clients in relation to external policy engagement across a range of key markets.

Thomas Lonngren

Former European Medicines Agency Executive Director

Thomas Lonngren is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with a wealth of experience in drug regulation, approval, market access, management, strategy, and leadership. He is best known for his outstanding leadership as the Executive Director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), where he successfully steered the agency from relative obscurity to global recognition as a world leader in drug regulation during his 10-year tenure from 2001 to 2010.​

Since stepping down from his role at the EMA, Thomas has leveraged his extensive knowledge and experience to provide expert advice to pharmaceutical and Biotech companies worldwide. His focus has been on helping US-based biotech companies located in Boston, Cambridge, New York, and San Francisco navigate the complex landscape of drug development, with a particular emphasis on regulatory and market access considerations.​

Apart from his advisory work, Thomas has also served as a non-executive independent board member in Biotech and MedTech companies for over a decade. This experience has given him a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, and he has used this knowledge to guide companies towards sustainable growth and success.

Eri Nishiuchi

Strategic Development and Business Effectiveness

Eri Nishiuchi holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology Sydney. Her expertise lies in health systems analysis and client relationship management within the healthcare and life sciences sectors. She also has experience working with patient organisations.

Throughout her career, Eri has provided competitive landscape research support to pharmaceutical and biotech clients across the Asia Pacific region, achieving one of the top client retention rates in the region. Her multilingual abilities have been instrumental in fostering strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Eri joined Biointelect in 2024 in a strategic development and business effectiveness role, where her focus will be on conducting market analysis and improving business processes.
